Dr. Plough was born and raised in New Orleans and started riding horses at four years old. During high school, she considered a career in broadcast journalism, but her love for animals ultimately pulled her back to the sciences.

She earned her undergraduate and doctorate degrees from LSU in Baton Rouge (Geaux Tigers!) before she moved to the D.C. area for an additional year of training with an internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals. During that year, she fell in love with the area and decided to make D.C. her new home.

Dr. Plough is interested in all aspects of preventative care with a particular interest in ophthalmology. She is also passionate about helping puppies and kittens become well-rounded family members from the start. Her favorite part about working at CAC is the incredibly collaborative environment and sense of teamwork!

When she isn't at CAC, Dr. Plough enjoys casual hikes with her rescue schnauzer-mix, Oscar, biking around DC, or making new bandanas to add to Oscar's collection. She also has a fond love of macaroni and cheese and all things Harry Potter.
