A Note of Thanks

With the holidays fast approaching, we want to share a few of the things for which we are most thankful.

First and foremost, we’ve never been more proud of or grateful for our team. As a veterinary hospital, we are very fortunate to be considered an essential business, allowing us to remain open even during the early days of the pandemic. While there was so much unknown at that point and things were changing day by day, even hour by hour, our team exceeded all expectations - jumping in willingly to an unknown situation, adapting to ever-changing protocols and schedules, all while handling a busier than normal workload. We’ve remained open since day one of the pandemic (aside from two very well-deserved staff wellness days!).

Which brings us to point #2 - our patients! While at times working from the comfort of home seems appealing, all it takes is one wagging tail from an old friend, a sloppy kiss from a new puppy, or a cuddle from a cat, to remind us why veterinary medicine is such an amazing field. We are fortunate we are able to work with our wonderful patients every day. It has been especially heartening to see so many pets finding new forever homes during this time. We’ve always known that there is no friend like a four-legged friend. We are overjoyed to see so many others experiencing this as well, not just in Arlington, but across the country where more pets have been adopted than ever before.

Finally, a begrudging nod to being forced to adapt to technology we’ve had on our to do list for quite some time prior to the global pandemic. We are set up to do telemedicine consults, obtain history prior to the visit (a friendly reminder to fill out a pre-visit questionnaire before your pet’s visit), and move to electronic (less paper!) versions of new client and pre-procedure paperwork.

We have grown personally, professionally, and together as a work family during this period. We feel more grateful than ever to be members of the Arlington small business community. We are thankful to live out our mission of providing exceptional veterinary care to our patients and the highest quality service to our clients in order to best facilitate the human-animal bond.

We wish you and your families a happy and safe holiday season, and a joyful and healthy 2021.
