Jennifer W.Jennifer W. ★★★★★ I took my 15 year old cat here because he seemed to have trouble walking and I suspected arthritis. Dr. Lockhart took one look at him and diagnosed diabetes. She has worked tirelessly to get his diabetes under control. The best recommendation for this clinic is that our skittish, anti-social cat loves them. He sits patiently for them – unlike at home! He lets them carry him around like a baby when he doesn’t let us pick him up at home.I don’t know what they do but I wish they’d bottle it.Kaitlin R.Kaitlin R. ★★★★★ Dr. Plough and the CAC team are the best! They are very patient with our dog who is very anxious at the vet. They take their time and make her feel more relaxed. The environment is very calm and soothing. I couldn’t speak more highly of a vet.Kate B.Kate B. ★★★★★ From my first call, I was impressed! The technicians, staff, and veterinarians are knowledgeable, obviously love their clients, and are so gentle. My kitty got 5 star treatment and we are very lucky to have Dr. Lockhart and all the staff available!Katie F.Katie F. ★★★★★ Amazing Customer Service and friendly staff. They have flexible hours and are experienced with international pet travel documentation.Hannah L.Hannah L. ★★★★★ 2025 Update: After several years of seeing them as Juniper’s primary vet, I still cannot recommend Clarendon Animal Care enough. They are kind, smart, compassionate, flexible, creative, and thoughtful. We’ve never had a bad experience with any of the vets, techs, or front desk staff. They genuinely care about you and your pets and do everything in their power to keep them happy and healthy. Juniper has seen Dr. Fitzgerel her whole life and we’re so thankful he and the team at Clarendon Animal Cate are part of our support family. Thank you!2021 Review: We bounced around to a few vets in the area before finding a home at Clarendon Animal Care South. The staff and vets are friendly and knowledgeable. You are seen quickly for your appointments. Pet parents are allowed to come in with their pet (as long as you take appropriate precautions, of course). We look forward to a long relationship with them helping us take care of our pup!Hannah L.Hannah L. ★★★★★ I cannot recommend Clarendon Animal Care enough. Thank you!Tessa M.Tessa M. ★★★★★ Very happy with my decision to establish vet care here! They have a fear free certification and it absolutely shows. Everyone is so kind and very patient with my dog. If she gets a bit nervous, they bring out little treats and are always playing calming music. It’s really nice that the vet is willing to give space and meet the dog at their level. Amazing office!Jayme B.Jayme B. ★★★★★ I have been taking my cat to Clarendon Animal Care for over 2 years now and they are always so kind, friendly, and thorough. I highly recommend them!Melanie W.Melanie W. ★★★★★ When we moved to Arlington, we were looking for a new veterinarian. At the time of my search, I read about a new Clarendon Animal Care (CAC) opened by two local women, so I made an appointment. After our first visit with Dr. Gloor, I knew we had found the perfect place for our sensitive pup! Through the years we have met so many awesome doctors, vet techs, and office staff at CAC (both North and South locations). We appreciated the commitment to top notch care, the attention to the details, and the clean environment. After every visit, we would receive a summary of the appointment and next steps. I don’t think we ever had an appointment where we didn’t have a follow-up call to check-in on how our Bella was doing and/or summarize lab results. I also appreciated the online portal and having access to the appointment history. When Bella’s health required a specialist, we had to visit a different veterinarian’s office (this other office left a lot to be desired). I found myself comparing the level of care to CAC. CAC was indeed the gold standard. Thank you CAC team for your kindness through the years and for helping our pup be her best!Christian Van de W.Christian Van de W. ★★★★★ Love them so much! They take such great care of all of the animals!Marissa M.Marissa M. ★★★★★ We love Clarendon Animal Care – our regular location is the one on Columbia Pike, but we’ve also been to the one on Clarendon Avenue. Everyone is kind and friendly, and we’ve only had good experiences there. A few years ago we moved overseas with our dog, and they were super helpful with getting all the tests and complicated paperwork done. And when we moved back to Arlington three years later, they help make sure everything was up to date. We wouldn’t take our dog anywhere else!Mike W.Mike W. ★★★★★ We have taken The Boys (our 2 cats) to Dr. Lockhart at Clarendon Animal Care for many years now. The clinic staff has all been great. They are caring and compassionate, and the practice is “fear-free” certified. They might not be the cheapest of the local veterinarians, but we trust them to look after their health of our furry family members and to help us make the best decisions on their behalf.Julie W.Julie W. ★★★★★ Thank you Clarendon Animal Care for always taking such good care of my two pugs. You all are the best especially helping me navigate the international travel policies and documentation.Hannah L.Hannah L. ★★★★★ The staff, vet techs, and vets at Clarendon Animal Care are fantastic! I have a very reactive dog, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that my dog is as calm as possible during her vet appointments. The staff is responsive to emails and calls, and are very helpful. Highly recommend Clarendon Animal Care–five stars!Anne H.Anne H. ★★★★★ Your exam rooms and reception area are always clean and well-lit. Great staff: very professional and knowledgeable.Belle RBelle R ★★★★★ I brought my greyhound to CAC for a second opinion after a frustrating experience elsewhere and fell in love with how caring they were not just with my dog’s well-being, but also with my anxiety and fears. I ended up having the procedure done at CAC and throughout the entire experience every single person there went out of their way to make sure my family understood the steps taken and felt comfortable/heard.Their staff is so kind and attentive. My dog went from having to be dragged into his old vet’s office to wanting to come in every time we walk by (the treats and warm greetings by the front desk are a big part of it!).Anna R.Anna R. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Care is amazing. The CAC North staff was incredibly thorough, loving, and professional as they worked to find the answer to my dog’s ailments and then again as we made the decision to say goodbye to our pet. I couldn’t have asked for a more loving, gentle staff to support us during such a hard time and even afterwards as we navigate grief.lynne P.lynne P. ★★★★★ I have had kitties since I was 8 years old. I am now a few months shy of 85. So I have experienced so many types of cats and so, so many veterinary practices over the years. I must say that I finally found the Best! In all of my years I have never experienced such kind, caring, loving, professional people! The Vets are extremely knowledgeable and professional, they always seem to have the perfect answer for even the most complicated and/or rare animal problems. No matter when or how you reach out to CAC, their responses are quick. It’s as if they are there just to help You and were waiting for you to reach out to them.. It’s a happy place full of folks who feel more like family than employees. You can’t go wrong with Clarendon Animal Care. So do you pet a real favor, and come “home” to CAC.James P.James P. ★★★★★ I went to Clarendon South to get gentler, more effective handling for my cat after he was diagnosed with a heart condition. Clarendon cost more than my old vet (not saying much) but the quality of handling was SO much better. I only went there once (spring 2024) before my cat passed, but I’m so glad I made the change. My cat was much calmer and the blood draw went much smoother. Would recommend.Ray M.Ray M. ★★★★★ Caring and knowledgeable staff and vets! Highly recommend.Ray M.Ray M. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Hospital is amazing. Great and caring doctors and staffLauren S.Lauren S. ★★★★★ We’ve been going to CAC North for 5+ years, and every visit has been as good as you could possibly hope for. Staff and doctors are consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. I recommend them to all pet-owners I know in the area!Natalie J.Natalie J. ★★★★★ Can’t recommend both CAC North and South enough! If we ever move I will be really sad. I’ve never loved a vet clinic and staff more!Jose A.Jose A. ★★★★★ Great atmosphere for my pup. He loves the friendly staff and has no fear going to the vet. My pup enjoys seeing all the vets!samantha W.samantha W. ★★★★★ My dog, Finn, had to have an unexpected surgery to remove a few mast cell tumors a few weeks ago. Dr. Carr and the entire team at CAC north were so supportive through the entire process. Their compassion and kindness made the process as easy as it could possibly be given the circumstances. Finn and I are so lucky to have found you all when we moved to the area three years ago!Renee G.Renee G. ★★★★★ CAC North wasn’t our first vet, but I’m so glad I made the switch (even though the location isn’t the most convenient to us, which reflects just how worth it is to go out of our way). My dog is always excited to be there thanks to their practice of fear free care. I joke that she probably gets sick every so often just to have visits. We see Dr. Gottlieb, who is always amazing and patient. However, we’ve also had to see other doctors in urgent care situations and the other doctors have also been great. They also have a travel coordinator who helps walk through steps/requirements for traveling abroad and it was extremely helpful when planning our trip. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the whole CAC-North team.Tracy M.Tracy M. ★★★★★ We’ve had a great experience here over the years with all of the staff and providers. Our dog actually loves going to this vet so they are clearly doing something right! I think it may be pricier than other places that aren’t as centrally located but you can’t beat the quality care and the convenience.Theresa C.Theresa C. ★★★★★ We have been taking Diego here his whole life! He’s always received the best care from the team. He’s eating well after having a bunch of teeth removed and not having any more mouth pains. Merry Christmas 🎄B T.B T. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Care was recommended by Lab Rescue four years ago to treat our adopted three year old pup Mr. Maple for heartworm and several other issues. We were so pleased with the treatment and care provided that we stayed with them even though there are a number of vet practices closer to our home. All of the veterinarians and staff are great with a special shout out to Dr. Colin McCrory. We especially like that Clarendon Animal Care is a private practice, not a large chain or private equity owned business that often push unneeded products and procedures. Clarendon really focuses on the pet’s health and well being.Bill TinklepaughAnnandale, VAElisa H.Elisa H. ★★★★★ I take both of my dogs to the south location and have had amazing experiences every time. My large Aussie mix tends to be a nervous boy, but the calming staff and environment always make trips less stressful. My senior mini Aussie on the other hand can be quiet cantankerous in his old age, a few months ago I called needed to get him in to have his lymph nodes checked, Dr. Smith was beyond kind and compassionate while she took samples and talked to me about possibilities. When the results came in she called me right away, confirming a cancer diagnosis. She made recommendations on Oncologist to see, but also listened to my concerns about Chemo at 16. I decided to go the Chemo route and am happy to say my pup is almost in remission and I’ve had months with him that I wouldn’t if it wasn’t for Dr. Smith’s support, guidance and expertise.Brooke B.Brooke B. ★★★★★ Easy scheduling; caring, kind, and attentive staff! Getting a puppy is stressful and i seriously think it would’ve been a harder start without the guidance of CAC North.Alex R.Alex R. ★★★★★ We’ve taken our 2 cats here as long as we’ve had them and only had positive experiences. Everyone is super friendly and go out of their way to make each visit as comforting as possible to not only the cats but also their nervous parents.Chris E.Chris E. ★★★★★ Friendly staff, easy to make appointments, and very reliable care. Highly recommend!Hannah M.Hannah M. ★★★★★ An AMAZING vet experience!! We even moved 45 minutes away and still drive over to go to this location. Dr. Taylor is the absolute best, and our dog has learned how to not be so scared during a vet visit. Wouldn’t trust our dog with any other vet.Faith M.Faith M. ★★★★★ My pup Reese’s and I had such a good experience. The fear free techniques used by the vets helped so much. My dog has a lot of vet anxiety, to the point where I couldn’t get him to enter the vet building of his old vet. At Clarendon Animal Care, they really took his anxiety into account and made him feel safe with a lick mat, slow movements, listening to his cues, etc. They even have calming music playing and had calming pheromone diffusers. If you have an anxious pup, this is a great choice!amy jo O.amy jo O. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Care does an amazing job with our dogs – and believe me – we have two pretty unruly dogs. Each time we go, our dogs are treated with kindness and compassion by this very knowledgeable staff. We greatly appreciate their care and work and are so thankful that we found them for our pets!Natalie M.Natalie M. ★★★★★ I am a vet and can tell you this is the top of the line type of animal clinic you would want to bring your pet. 10/10 great medicine and friendly people!!Juliana D.Juliana D. ★★★★★ I cannot recommend CAC (south or north) enough. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your pet has a low stress experience while giving top notch medical care. CAC is the only vet I will ever take my highly anxious dog to.Tabatha V.Tabatha V. ★★★★★ visited CAC south for the first time today for a wellness visit and vaccines. everyone was so friendly and patient with my dog Dragon, who gets nervous in new environments. Kaitlin greeted us at the entrance and made us feel very welcome. Dr. Pike and Tyler were both excellent, and happy to answer all my questions! they made me feel confident that I was making informed decisions for the health and safety of my dog, while staying within my budget, which I really appreciate. the office is clean and convenient, exam rooms are comfortable for dogs and people! I noticed the rooms have rugs and calming music, the rugs especially help my dog who has a hard time settling on bare floors. overall a very positive experience and I look forward to continuing my dog’s care with the team at CAC south.Isabella S.Isabella S. ★★★★★ When we had to take our cat, Jiji (now deceased 😢), the vet knew exactly what to do.They were able to refer us to emergency services and make sure that Jiji was as comfortable as possible. It’s been almost a year and our wonderful vet still remembers her. They even called to see how she was doing after we transferred her to the emergency veterinarian. everyone at CAC is extremely kind and every experience we’ve had has been personable and full compassion. Along with the excellent service, the facilities are clean and well kept. We take our two other cats for regular checkup/ shots and we have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes before being seen. 5/5 highly recommend!Allison B.Allison B. ★★★★★ I cannot overstate how amazing Clarendon Animal Care has been for us! We are first time dog parents and they have been nothing but helpful, supportive, and very responsive with all of our questions and concerns. I would HIGHLY recommend this practice to everyone – and I’m sure our dog Cheesecake would as well!Summer A.Summer A. ★★★★★ Just had my first visit at this clinic and omg they are amazing! Everyone was smiling and very welcoming and kind. The providers made sure my cat felt comfortable while also providing her amazing care. The team members I worked with are Dr. Fitzgerel and Tyler. They were both incredible! I can’t recommend this place enough!Caroline K.Caroline K. ★★★★★ I absolutely love this place! My dog was born with three legs and underwent surgery about four years ago for breast cancer so she is not the simplest patient. Every doctor I’ve interacted with in the last almost four years with this vet has been incredibly patient, honest, and kind. Dr. Taylor has worked with me to create a post-cancer care plan for my now senior girl and twice a year we spend time on the floor of her office painstakingly checking each of my dogs lumps and bumps to be sure there is no returning cancer. I can’t express how much I appreciate this team and the peace of mind they have given me. I feel lucky to be able to give my girl such great care.Brennon E.Brennon E. ★★★★★ Very personable and knowledgeable. Cares about your pet and genuinley concerned for their well-being.Demetria C.Demetria C. ★★★★★ Switched to CAC North from another vet in Fairfax and I wish we had started here from the start! I have two Italian greyhounds and have done an international health certificate here, and also been in for: routine vaccinations, anxiety medication management, parasite deworming, and GI issues. Luxor and Pharoah love to see Caitlin (tech) and DVM McCrory, but when we needed to get in asap for my newly adopted iggy who wasn’t holding down food, Julia (tech) and DVM Gottlieb were incredible! When I was struggling to get my adopted iggy’s previous vet records, the staff were able to get them on file for me. Prescriptions here are so easy to fill in office or on Chewy, and their online booking system is awesome. Italian greyhounds are weird, anxious little guys and the staff is always willing to bend over backwards to make them comfy. We are going to start seeing their vet behaviorist for some help with our reactive new little guy, and we know we will be in the best care! Receipts and post-visit instructions are always emailed and we usually always get phone calls after visits to see any add-on care is needed. This place is incredible!!Marina T.Marina T. ★★★★★ This place is great. Neighbors recommended it when we got our puppy and we’ve have fantastic experiences. They stay on time, are thorough and caring, and provide great resources. Jayde the vet tech gave our puppy a vaccine so quickly and comfortably today that our puppy didn’t even notice. It’s fantastic all the way around.jonathanjonathan ★★★★★ Great vet, super friendly staff, always kind to my dog, a little expensive but most places are around hereSteven C.Steven C. ★★★★★ This is one of the best Vets I have brought my cats to like ever. Very caring and gentle with my kitties. They did not force addition treatment on my cats and bottom line they were absolutely great. Thank CAC for such great professionalism.Patrick W.Patrick W. ★★★★★ Prompt, clean, and thorough! Great experience so farBen W.Ben W. ★★★★★ Awesome place! Super nice to the pets and make them feel relaxed. Responsive over email and calls. No complaints at all!Marisa N.Marisa N. ★★★★★ Phenomenal vet with great expertise, advice, and providing a non-stressful environment for my dog, Gal. This is the best vet we have ever been to and we’ve been to many from moving around. Thanks Clarendon for taking care of my girl these past couple of years.Kimberly N.Kimberly N. ★★★★★ Amazing, warm, compassionate, attentive and caring staff. The fear free environment really makes these visits a lot easier on both myself and my baby. Highly recommend!Kim E.Kim E. ★★★★★ When I reached out to Clarendon Animal Care, I had two senior cats who I had loved since their births. One I hand raised from a few days old and that precious kitty was diagnosed with bone cancer while a patient of the clinic. The staff, from front desk to veterinary techs, were always polite and competent. But Drs. Ungerer & Gloor were the two who I remember best. They were able to offer hope and give me time with my cats by suggesting medications and testing that I could financially manage and would bring some measure of comfort to my babies. They spent time loving on the kitties, listening to me, understanding my heart’s wishes and my limited finances.Very importantly, in a very heartfelt way, both suggested there may be next steps I should consider. I understood what that meant. It was not an ultimatum but something for me to consider, a possibility I could not bring myself to be the first to suggest. In time, I was able to peacefully make that decision for both.Thank you, Dr. Ungerer & Dr. Gloor. You do not have to remember me but I will never forget you and I will return to Clarendon when I get my next pet- which I hope is not too long from now!Sara P.Sara P. ★★★★★ We are very happy with Clarendon Animal Care. The doctors take time to speak with you and for this area, the prices are fair.AnnetteAnnette ★★★★★ Very efficient staff. Did not feel rushed. Very good experience. Highly recommend.Yessenia A.Yessenia A. ★★★★★ They are the absolute best! Every time I bring in Pancho he receives so much love. Staff and the Vets are always attentive and treat my dog and myself with care and patience. They are understanding these visits can be stressful for all involved and create an environment which is welcoming and comforting. I also appreciate how considerate they are when making treatment recommendations given how quickly costs can add up. I recommend Clarendon Animal Care to anyone looking for a new Vet and wanting the best for your animal companion.Lili del Carmen M.Lili del Carmen M. ★★★★★ I can’t recommend this wonderful vet practice enough! The staff is kind, the environment is welcoming and completely designed to make pets feel as calm as possible, the technicians and doctors are amazing. The whole team is efficient, thorough, friendly and thoughtful. They healed my dog’s fractured leg while being kind and supportive to me, and it’s always great to go for his routine care appointments.Denise H.Denise H. ★★★★★ Best front desk service and responsiveness to my inquiries. Very caring of my fur baby. Dr Gloor saved me from having torn Acl by going to holistic vet. That was 3-4 yrs, walking and running and 15.5 yrs oldAnya P.Anya P. ★★★★★ I have had a great experience at both the Columbia Pike and North locations of Clarendon Animal Care. They do a great job of answering questions and beyond that support their clients individually through the emotional challenges that come with bringing your pet to a clinic. I strongly recommend either of their locations.Alice V.Alice V. ★★★★★ We love Clarendon Animal Care, how patient they are with my dog, and how available they are for us! Could not recommend them more.Amy Van M.Amy Van M. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Care is top notch through and through! Dr. Carr took exceptional care of and concern for my cat Moo when he was alive, as well as several other amazing vets (Dr. Gottlieb, Dr. Fitzgerel) and numerous vet techs. Having a designated cat waiting area was incredibly helpful since my cat was not used to dogs! Huge bonus points for their fun social media presence! When I adopt another pet, CAC will be the first place I go back to.George S.George S. ★★★★★ Regardless of the reason that Penuche visits this vet it is ALWAYS a pleasure. Great staff that is clear current and deep knowledge who go out of their way to show caring and support. So glad we found this Vet!JackieJackie ★★★★★ Every staff member is always so amazing and kind to my dog Eli. They know him by name and it’s a very low stress environment. We appreciate you!Christinah H.Christinah H. ★★★★★ I am living overseas as a federal employee. Whenever my wife and our Goldendoodle are back in Arlington, Clarendon Animal Care has come through everytime. From vaccinations, arranging our International Health Certificate so that Wally could travel with us, the calm environment, we feel secure and happy to continue to stay with Clarendon Animal Care North for years to come. I mostly appreciate the attentiveness that we’ve received while out of the country. Wally ran out of medication and they immediately approved the refill. Looking forward for when we’re back at the end of the year.tracy C.tracy C. ★★★★★ I love the vets and the staff from CAC. They are super caring to your pet and always put their best interest at heart! For this pet parent who has health with kidney disease, mass cell cancer, osteosarcoma, leg amputation, two ACLs and a terrified rescue- they are my first and only go to for trusted care and advice. I have been a customer since their grand opening and would never go elsewhere. I hope that they continue to expand and grow.S OS O ★★★★★ I’ve only had perfect experiences at CAC! My cat feels at ease and everyone at the front desk is always kind. We’ve two different DVMs over the course of being a patient and they’re both thorough yet compassionate. Sincerely recommend CAC to anyone in the area.Elise S.Elise S. ★★★★★ CAC North was my two cats’ vet for about a year when I lived in the area. They saw my cats from little kittens and I was always super happy with the care they received! The staff is all super friendly and they have a separate cat waiting area which is super cute.Brittany Baron, C.Brittany Baron, C. ★★★★★ Thorough, compassionate, FEAR FREE, science-based and patient centered care with attentive, easy and communicative processes for us human guardians. My senior dogs each have chronic conditions that require labs and frequent monitoring — you get what you pay for and costs in the area are generally high, so I found this practice is an amazing *value*. I came to this practice based on their relationship with the Arlington shelter after adopting my younger dog there and having a complimentary base physical exam. I was so satisfied with our experience at this fear-free practice that they now handle all my pets.Rene W.Rene W. ★★★★★ Always have the best service at the south location. All the staff are awesome. Take wonderful care of my Poppy.M MM M ★★★★★ We have been clients of Clarendon Animal Care since we adopted our dog in 2020, and I have never written a review; today I had to. Our poor pup has had diarrhea for two days despite being on a plain diet and when we called at 7:30 this morning they told us to first bring in a fecal sample. Of course he refused to poop all day. When he finally had bloody diarrhea 20 minutes before the vet closed I called and spoke to Jayde. She put me at ease (I was worried) she stayed there until I brought in the sample, explained the options to me and helped schedule me at an animal urgent care given some of the symptoms. I couldn’t be more appreciative of the lengths to which Jayde and the team went to give me peace of mind as we head into a weekend. Thanks you!Mitchell M.Mitchell M. ★★★★★ Great customer service and fast response. I called, made an appointment that same week, received a confirmation email and text message. Looking forward to staying with this ClinicMitchell M.Mitchell M. ★★★★★ Called to make an appointment and was seen that same week. Great customer careand great service.Mary M.Mary M. ★★★★★ My dog has been a patient here for years. I’ve never had a bad experience. Everyone is professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. My dog has received excellent care here. He’s still a patient even though we moved to PG county. Worth the long drive.Kylie G.Kylie G. ★★★★★ Great vet. Reasonable prices and they were amazing with my kitty’s first time at the vet. They answered all my questions, and made him very comfortable – I was shocked that they were able to!Isabella C.Isabella C. ★★★★★ My cat, Lola, has been going to CAC North a little under 3 years. She’s seen several of the vets and all have been incredibly caring and patient. All of the front desk staff and vet techs are also lovely. They do all they can to help your pet feel comfortable at the vet, from the trained fear free mentality to pheromones and classical music in the exam rooms to the separate kitty waiting area. The online booking platform is also so easy to use, and they are always consistent with email communications. We are moving out of town and are so sad to be leaving CAC. It will be hard to top this vet! We highly recommend CAC for anyone living in the Arlington area.Carol J.Carol J. ★★★★★ The friendliest staff who care so much about your pet. You can tell they all work in that capacity to help our family pets. Highly recommended if your pet is a family member.Sebastian Yonekura B.Sebastian Yonekura B. ★★★★★ Extremely friendly staff, very upfront regarding costs for the international health certificate for my dogs, clear requirements and on time with the delivery, I’m pleased with the level service. I’ll reach out every time I travel abroadMark L.Mark L. ★★★★★ Just really wonderful staff – they do fear-free right.Earth S.Earth S. ★★★★★ Absolutely love this place. They were so friendly and thorough and my cat felt pretty comfortable considering the circumstances. They made me feel very welcomed there. And I also appreciated that the vet did not rush through and really gave me plenty of time to talk and ask questions.Allison E.Allison E. ★★★★★ I’ve owned animals for 25 years, and Clarendon Animal Care is the best vet I’ve ever worked with. They are compassionate, thorough, and they go the extra mile to make sure my dogs and cats are living their best lives. They explain everything to me so I can understand it, which allows me to actively participate in my animals’ care. The Fear-Free experience is a revolution in animal care.Teresa K.Teresa K. ★★★★★ An absolutely incredible vet clinic that practices Fear Free approaches. They have seen two of our highly anxious pups and were so wonderful with them, gave them amazing care, and cared about them and us. Especially impressed with and appreciative of Alyssa and Lou.Amanda M.Amanda M. ★★★★★ I highly recommend CAC to anyone looking for the best care for their furry friends. The staff is friendly and professional, and the facilities are top-notch. I appreciate the personalized care they provide for Murphy and her fear/anxiety. We’ve worked on this specifically with LVT Alex, she is so amazing and patient with my dog and now Murphy literally cries with excitement when we get to go to see her at CAC. Overall, they exceeded my expectations and I’m very happy to call them MY vet 😊John C.John C. ★★★★★ Have been going here for years with my dog Ziggy. He loves it and they take such good care of him. Truly nice to have a great team looking out for him.Austin M.Austin M. ★★★★★ Nicest people ever. You can definitely tell you’re paying premium for vet services though.Anthony B.Anthony B. ★★★★★ I have to give them 5 stars because they (especially Dr. Ungerer and Gloor) saved my little man’s life when he got leptospirosis several years ago. They are a little bit pricier than the typical vets office but they know what they are doing and seem to be really on top of it with diagnostics. That said, because of there skill with diagnosing things properly- they usually don’t try to run up your bill with unnecessary tests- so it might actually save you money in the long run to go here. The staff are great and I’ve always been pleased with the care all their Vets and Vet Techs give. Front desk people are kind and helpful as well.Callie O.Callie O. ★★★★★ I cannot say enough good things about CAC, the entire staff is fantastic- friendly, knowledgeable, well organized and incredibly supportive. Amazing in office, very responsive via email if you have a question or concern. We used them for our early puppy care, many questions and an urgent medical item and they’re just the bestLjubica B.Ljubica B. ★★★★★ Dr. Valentine is my dog’s favorite vet we’ve had. She listens to my concerns, but also makes my dog Thor feel so comfortable and at ease during vet visits as he can get stressed out by them. I highly recommend Clarendon Animal Care for those who have pets who have struggled with vet visits in the past because my dog walks out tail wagging and getting treats/pets from the front desk staff as well!Viacheslav T.Viacheslav T. ★★★★★ Pricey but great serviceLaura MLaura M ★★★★★ Wonderful team and service at CAC- south. With an anxious and excitable rescue, the ability to come for service without meeting another dog is really nice. We have had great visits and consistent responsiveness all the way around, sometimes with multiple encounters in a week. Thanks again!!! This top notch service does come with a high price tag too. By far the most expensive vet we have ever encountered, so save up!Mark O.Mark O. ★★★★★ What a quality operation! Don’t know how they do it but the place exudes compassion and care. The staff is the key. “Beso,” our beloved pup for over 12 years and 5 countries had reached the end of his life and Clarendon Animal Care took the best care of us. They then provided a special pawprint plaque and his ashes. What is, by far, an example of their extra care, they later sent us a hand written condolences card in the mail! Wish I had taken photos of the place but here was Beso in his better days.Julie F.Julie F. ★★★★★ Wonderful staff, trust them implicitly. My poor pupper has severe vet anxiety and they do so well with him. Super caring and thorough.Jessica S.Jessica S. ★★★★★ This place is phenomenal, and the reason that is: the staff. They are always so helpful and polite! I never have a hard time getting a hold of someone over the phone, the times I’ve needed an appointment soon, they were able to find me one with very short notice. Dr Tanner is a sweetheart and so concerned for the well being of my pup! However, I interact the most with the front desk staff; they get me appointments, check me in and out, they’re the ones I talk about filling prescriptions as needed, etc. those ladies are a gem! I’ll have to give a shout out to Abby who is the one I’ve talked to the most and is so extremely caring and polite, follows through (if she says she’ll call back with an answer, she absolutely will). I only have positive things to say about this place! They’re amazing and treat my puppy so well every time!Megan K.Megan K. ★★★★★ Been going to CAC (Dr. Plough) for about 3 years, and we love it! They don’t rush, and do everything they can to make anxious dogs comfortable throughout their appointments.Kristin T.Kristin T. ★★★★★ Love CAC! The best vet in NOVA! Or dog loves going to visit so much, that everyone we walk by, he tries to stop. They always put my dogs safety and comfort first and I know he’s getting there best care possible.Callie O.Callie O. ★★★★★ I cannot say enough good things about this vet! The staff is phenomenal, makes its super easy and low stress for our puppy and for us! They are very responsive over email to our many (first time dog parent) questions. They’ve been just incredibly wonderful with everythingSarah M.Sarah M. ★★★★★ I can’t even begin to describe how amazing every doctor and tech is at this practice is. They are extremely patient, extremely organized, and do everything with care. We have a very reactive dog and they make her vet appointments soooo easy. They really care about each pet and never make us feel like she is difficult (which she is!) and have helped us so much with finding resources and taking care of her health. They always answer the phone quickly and take care of questions/concerns immediately. They are thorough about writing things down in her chart and every element of the practice is detail oriented. Every single staff member deserves a big gold star! ⭐️⭐️Ryan G.Ryan G. ★★★★★ Great and friendly staff!LRMLRM ★★★★★ We had a really positive experience at the Columbia Pike location. Parking was easy in the garage. Go to the left after pulling in and there’s an elevator available. It wasn’t totally clear but also not challenging to walk around and find signs. The doctor and technician were kind. They had knowledge of the medical issue and a sympathetic approach to managing cost for vaccines and scripts. I had two vaccines onsite and filled one of two while there, the other at Costco. I did not feel as though my love for my pet was in question because I inquired about cost. Hands down the best experience I’ve had in the last three weeks from urgent vet to another clinic I experienced. I will be seeking care here for as long as I live in the DC area. Great doc and techT W.T W. ★★★★★ Love this place! Best vet we’ve ever taken our pets to. They are very caring and thorough.Laura F.Laura F. ★★★★★ Reliable veterinary care. We have taken our dogs here for years and we recently switched our cats over. They are quick to respond to emails and calls, the front desk staff are very helpful and the vets provide insightful diagnosis and treatment. They have an urgent care nearby as well.Allison M.Allison M. ★★★★★ We absolutely love this practice!! The staff and vets are so friendly, helpful and understanding. We rescued our dog a few years ago so he is very anxious and nervous when going to the vet. They were so patient when working with him, they always went at his pace and they always made sure that he was comfortable. They were so helpful in finding a behavioral therapist to help with his anxiety. They are the absolute best and we cannot recommend them enough!!Kelsey O.Kelsey O. ★★★★★ I would walk uphill both ways in a blizzard to take any pet I have for the rest of my life to see Dr. Lauren Pike.Theodore E. P.Theodore E. P. ★★★★★ Amazing caring professionalsAnna G.Anna G. ★★★★★ The best! Our dog has been a patient here for over three years now and consistently gets attentive, personal, and fast care. The front desk is always prompt to answer any unexpected questions that may arise as a pet owner. We moved out of the area a while ago, but we still make the drive to be seen here. Thank you to the staff for caring for our pet so well!Jake C.Jake C. ★★★★★ Dr. Fitzgerel is easily the best Vet I have worked with! Not only does he remember what my dog Jimmy needs and gives excellent medical advice for longterm treatment, but he also remembers me personally.Dianne M.Dianne M. ★★★★★ Love the staff at this place!Christina L.Christina L. ★★★★★ Our reactive dog has received amazing care from their Fear Free endorsed staff. We’re thrilled to have found this practice and drive an hour plus to work with them. They take time with each client and animal, never making the experience feel rushed. The front desk staff are amazing and the staff is very responsive to calls or emails. We’ve had many of our own and foster animals over the years and worked with various vets. This practice is by far the best we’ve experienced in NoVa.Austin S.Austin S. ★★★★★ They’re great and patient with the animals, and do a very good job communicating with you too. Great service, would recommendCasey K.Casey K. ★★★★★ Very good with cats here — all about making them feel safe. They have a questionnaire you can fill out ahead of time about what your cat doesn’t like about the vet, and they try to make it as pleasant as possible for them. They also gave my cat churu during his visit, which made listening to his breathing/checking his weight/etc SO much easier!!Rachel H.Rachel H. ★★★★★ I’ve had an amazing experience here – both for my puppy’s regular puppy visits/vaccines and for a couple of ongoing medical issues she’s had. They’re so great that my dog cannot contain her excitement when she has a vet visit! The reception staff is very welcoming, patient, and responsive. I especially appreciate how above and beyond Dr. Taylor has gone in treating some ongoing issues with my pup both at visits and asynchronously and in coordinating a needed specialty consult in the middle of a long-distance move!Vanessa L.Vanessa L. ★★★★★ Wonderful employees, so timely, caring, patient, absolutely great experience with my dogs. So lucky to have found them.Indya B.Indya B. ★★★★★ This company is over the top. Each person I’ve met has been friendly and helpful, and I trust them to take superb care of my furry family members.Scott W.Scott W. ★★★★★ A couple of years ago, I adopted a rescue cat that as it turned out had been exposed to some pretty nasty stuff while living on the street. Ringworm, skin allergies, blisters on her lip, an ear infection, a dental condition that at its worst kept her from eating for several days… you name it. She’s now happy and healthy with no problems more serious than a single allergic red bump on her back that crops up every few months. I have to thank the folks at CAC for consistently going the extra mile and really couldn’t recommend them enough.Jenny D.Jenny D. ★★★★★ I am so glad we selected Clarendon Animal Care (South) for our first dog. Every visit we have had has been great. From the front desk staff to the Veterinarian’s, everyone is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Skorup and CAC South.Sara A.Sara A. ★★★★★ I have never written a review before but I cannot say enough FANTASTIC things about this vet. An incredible group of people from the front desk to the vet staff. They truly care about the well being of my pets. I’ve never felt so safe bringing my pet to the vet. Wonderful welcoming group, always take care of my pup and answer all of my questions!Kel M.Kel M. ★★★★★ This team of pet-care professionals put the tender loving touch into everything they do. No only did they make my super anxious pet comfortable during his exams, they made me feel like he was safe and bring cared after. I highly recommend these fine folks become your go-to for any pet health needs.Irma A.Irma A. ★★★★★ Very organized leading up to my cat’s appointment. The appointment was easy and my cat now has a new vet.Helder L.Helder L. ★★★★★ LegalMutailifu L.Mutailifu L. ★★★★☆ It’s okay. Nice location. Friendly staff. But they will ask you to pay deposit before making an appointment. They will tell you about the options with prices before the physical exam. It’s just all about money. But like I said, they are friendly. They will follow up after the appointment and give you good advice. If they focus more on my dog than money I would give them five stars. So to be fair, they deserve a four stars.js_loader

“Just wow. We had an emergency with one of our kittens and called four places and the emergency vet and none could take us.
Clarendon Animal Care was so empathetic and agreed to take us at the end of the day. Every staff member-reception, techs, the vet—were so upbeat and friendly.”
