Dana Carr, DVM
Associate Veterinarian - Clarendon, CAC North and Columbia Pike, CAC South
Dr. Carr is originally from Michigan. She grew up surrounded by animals and decided from an early age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. Dr. Carr earned her BS in Biological Anthropology from the University of Michigan (GO BLUE!). She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University graduating in 2006.
After veterinary school Dr. Carr moved to the Washington, DC area to complete a rotating medicine and surgery internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals. At the completion of her internship she continued to serve as a staff doctor at Friendship on and off for many years, as well as practiced briefly at hospitals in both Arlington, VA and Pittsburgh, PA.
Her clinical areas of interest include senior and geriatric care, feline medicine, endocrine disease management, preventative and wellness care, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry.
Dr. Carr lives with her family in Falls Church. She and her husband are kept very busy with two children and their many activities. She is also a mom to several furry babies: 2 dogs (Monty and Zeppo) and 1 guinea pig (Lemonade).
Outside of work, Dr. Carr enjoys OrangeTheory Fitness, reading, traveling (ideally to a tropical location), and visiting her family in Michigan. Michigan summers are the best!
