Lauren Pike, DVM
Associate Veterinarian – CAC North & CAC South
Dr. Pike was born in Huntsville, Alabama, where she spent her childhood doting on pets and “rescuing” local wildlife, from injured bunnies to toads. This early passion for animal welfare led her to earn a Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of the South (Sewanee) before pursuing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University.
After spending seven years as a general practitioner in Northern Virginia, Dr. Pike spent three years focusing exclusively on diagnostic ultrasound. While this specialized work deepened her knowledge in Internal Medicine and Oncology, she found herself missing the long-term bonds formed with pets and their owners. Now a key member of the Clarendon Animal Care team, she thrives on the daily opportunity to provide comprehensive, relationship-based care to her patients.
Over the last few years, her own home transitioned from a bustling multi-pet household to one with just a single cat. This personal journey through the loss of her longtime companions has given her a profound, firsthand perspective on geriatric medicine and the complexities of end-of-life care, allowing her to support her clients with unique empathy during their pets’ senior years.
Dr. Pike resides in Annandale with her husband and their three high-energy sons and old lady cat. When she isn’t at the clinic, she stays busy keeping up with her boys, enjoying a good book, traveling, or hitting the trails for a family hike.
